The ICON: STEVE JOBS

You would definitely ask “Why is he an ICON? What did he do to be called an ICON?”.

This blog post/article is solely dedicated to pay tribute to the man who made all things possible for the mobile and technology industry.

He’s a tech genius, a visionary,  inventor,  innovator.

He was the founder of the famous and wealthy (sophisticated) company- Apple, where he first assembled computer  boards in his garage, then he tried to sell them to local computer stores. While Woz worked on a new and much improved computer, APPLE II. Woz and Steve knew that this computer was a breakthrough, much more advanced than anything in the market at that time. Steve then set out to find venture capitalists to fund Apple’s expansion. He made a deal with Mike Markkula, an enthusiastic former Intel executive who invested $250,000 in their business with the assurance that the company would enter the Fortune 500 list in less than 2 years. The rest is history.

From a humble start, combined with passion and determination to make a difference, he introduced major innovations that changed the way people looked at technology. Making these innovations more interesting and fun. Bill gates put computers in  offices, but it was Steve Jobs who put computers in homes, living rooms, dormitories, libraries and later on, he innovated a phone that can access internet.

If Steve Jobs had not made these changes, where would we be today?  He was the mastermind behind an empire of products that revolutionized computing, telephony and the music industry. He was one of the pioneers of Silicon Valley and helped establish the region’s claim as the global centre of technology.

He was worth an estimated $8.3 billion, but he often dismissed others’ interest in his wealth. “Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful … that’s what matters to me.”

He was one of my hero’s, he inspired me to be where I am today.  It is because of his efforts and accomplishments we are doing what we do at Gotcha!

He died Wednesday, but I surely know that what he did over the past 3 decades will remain for a long, long time. He left a legacy. He made a HUGE difference.

May you rest in peace, Steven Paul Jobs.

You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life. ~ Steve Jobs
